FINANCIAL INTEGRITY FOR MISSION READINESS

The Commander Kenya Army Lieutenant General David Tarus presided over the closing ceremony of the Annual Paymasters’ Seminar at the Humanitarian Peace Support School Embakasi, Nairobi.

The 5 -day seminar under the theme ” Financial acumen for mission success” brought together Paymasters and Finance Officers who are entrusted with the financial stewardship of the Kenya Defence Forces, with the aim of reviewing performance, share experiences, exchange new ideas, address existing and emerging financial challenges.

In his speech, Lt Gen Tarus emphasized the importance of ethical financial management for maintaining public trust. He also stressed on the need for transparency and accountability which are fundamental, urging them to take up their responsibilities seriously.

“Financial integrity means more than balancing budgets and following regulations. It is about upholding the trust placed upon us to make right decisions. Ensure that every resource is maximized to strengthen our mission readiness to support the system and honour our commitment to the nation.” said Lt Gen Tarus.

The Commander also urged the Paymasters on the need for continuous financial training as it ensures being ahead of the curve by anticipating changes rather than reacting to them. He further took a moment to acknowledge the weight of their role and commitment which strengthens the entire KDF fraternity.

“The work you do is not always in the spotlight, but its impact resonates across every unit, every mission, and every soldier’s life. Conversely, your accuracy and dedication ensure our troops can focus on their duties, knowing their financial needs are met”, he noted.
