The Joint Command and Staff College (JCSC) successfully conducted a hiking excursion at Mount Longonot, in Nakuru County. The event was attended by the College’s leadership, Directing Staff and students from the Senior Joint Command and Staff Course, SJCSC 41-2025/26.
The 11-kilometer hike commenced at the Kenya Forest Service (KFS) gate, and was officially flagged off by Colonel Benjamin Kiprop, a member of staff at the College.
The excursion is an integral part of the College’s curriculum, designed to promote both mental and physical fitness. Through immersing participants in a natural environment, the activity aims to enhance cognitive function, creativity and problem-solving skills, all of which are essential for effective learning.
Additionally, the hike serves to foster environmental appreciation, aligning with the course’s themes of sustainability and leadership in outdoor settings.
