Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) troops based in Elwak shared food items with local community at Iresuki town, Mandera County and also issued Football Kit to Iresuki youth football team as part of CIMIC initiative geared to strengthening civil-military cooperation and enhancing trust between security forces and the community.
The initiative culminated with a football match between the KDF team and Iresuki football team with the match ending with a draw 1-1.
The objective of the CIMIC activity was to consolidate celebrate the achievements of the pacification operations conducted in the area to root out Al Shabaab elements since the Kidnapping of Five area Chiefs.
The community and the Iresuki youth football team appreciated the kind gesture acknowledging KDF’s commitment to strengthening civil – military relations and supporting humanity in the area.
