Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) troops based in Elwak conducted a community-centred medical outreach initiative at Shimbir Fatuma town, Mandera County, geared to strengthening civil-military cooperation and enhancing trust between security forces and the community.
The services rendered included free medical check-up which included screening for common illnesses and conditions, provision of preventive health education on communicable diseases, hygiene/sanitation, nutrition, maternal and child health, Identification and referral of serious medical cases for specialised treatment and free distribution of essential medicines.
The Medicamp demonstrated the commitment of KDF to safeguard not only security but also the well-being of local communities through public health.
The community appreciated the medical outreach, acknowledging KDF’s commitment to strengthening civil-military relations and supporting humanity in operation areas.
