KDF FAMILIES SETTLE INTO NEW MODERN HOUSING AT ROYSAMBU MILITARY CAMP

Families of the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) have officially moved into newly commissioned modern housing units at Roysambu Military Camp, marking a significant milestone in the Force’s ongoing welfare enhancement programme aimed at improving the living standards of service personnel.

The project, commissioned on Thursday, 26 February 2026, by His Excellency William Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya and Commander-in-Chief of the Kenya Defence Forces, reaffirms the Government’s commitment to strengthening the welfare framework for KDF members through the provision of dignified, modern accommodation.

Commander Kahawa Garrison, Brigadier Hussein Dida, supervised the transition process and formally received the families. He emphasised that quality housing is a critical enabler of operational readiness, noting that it directly influences morale, stability, and the overall wellbeing of soldiers and their dependants.

The initiative reflects the KDF’s sustained institutional focus on delivering secure, modern, and habitable living environments. It aligns with the Force’s broader mandate to safeguard national security while maintaining a robust personnel support system that enhances operational effectiveness and promotes family stability.
