On 19 July 2025, medics from Kenya Defence Forces in partnership with the Kwale County Government, conducted a free medical camp at Samburu Sub-County Hospital in Kwale County.
More than 1,500 residents benefited from a wide array of medical services, including medical check-ups, consultations and diagnostic assessments.
Medical teams from the Kenya Navy, Mariakani Garrison and Aga Khan Hospital led by Brigadier (Dr) Justino Muinde, the Chief of Naval Medical Services showcased the Kenya Defence Forces’ continued dedication to public health initiatives while strengthening civil military relations.
A significant highlight was a successful herniotomy performed on a 4-year-old boy.
The occasion was graced by Kwale County Governor, H.E. Fatuma Achani and Commander Mariakani Garrison, Brigadier Douglas Mokwena. Also in attendance was Mwanaisha Chidzuga, the deputy spokesperson of the Government of Kenya.
