KDF TROOPS CIMIC OUTREACH AT DAMASA

Kenya Defence Forces troops operating at Damasa in Mandera County conducted Civil-Military Cooperation activities which included a medical camp outreach, distribution of water and food items to Abdinoor village in the outskirts of Damasa Town and to the residents of Damasa Town.

The outreach saw many locals receive medical treatment for various ailments with some receiving medical referrals and advise on good hygiene.

The team also distributed clean drinking water to households, madarasa and provision of water for domestic animals to alleviate current drought and also to assist the locals since the pump at the borehole within the town broke down. Food items distributed included maize floor, rice and other assorted food stuffs.

The locals praised the continuous support they have received from the KDF and promised to foster the relationship to promote peace and stability within the sector.

The outreach forms part of the KDF continued effort to sustain peace through operations but also to help the locals access basic needs and humanitarian support services.
