KENYA ARMY FORMATION AND CORPS COMMANDERS PERFORMANCE CONTRACT SIGNING

Commander Kenya Army Lieutenant General (Lt Gen) David Ketter on Wednesday, 13th August 2025, led Kenya Army Formation Commanders and Chiefs of Branches in signing Performance Contracts for the financial year 2025/2026 at Kahawa Garrison.

Speaking during the event, Lt Gen David Ketter said the Performance Contracts will give the Formation Commanders, Chiefs of Branches and Corps Commanders an opportunity to implement performance targets that are aligned with Kenya Army’s strategic objectives as directed by the Ministry of Defence.

‘‘These contracts are not ceremonial; they are operational instruments that translate strategic intent into measurable objectives. They sharpen our focus, enhance execution, and safeguard the prudent use of resources entrusted to us,’’ said Lt Gen Ketter.

The Commander further called upon the Formation Commanders and Chiefs of Branches to take full ownership of their responsibilities, reminding them that signing the performance contracts acts as both a solemn vow and a rallying call to uphold the constitutional mandate.

“Our mission success will depend on a unity of purpose, determination, and the collective will to transform commitments into tangible results that strengthen our mission readiness and professionalism,” he said.

The ceremony was also attended by General Officer Commanding Eastern Command Major General Luka Kutto.
