On 26 November 2025, Kenya Navy hosted marine engineering students and staff from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) for an educational visit at the Kenya Navy Base (KNB) Mtongwe in Mombasa County.
The tour provided the students with hands-on exposure to marine operations within the Kenya Navy.
During their visit to the Kenya Naval Training College (KNTC), the students explored the Full Mission Bridge Simulator (FMBS) , which is vital in training Kenya Navy and multi-agency personnel on maritime operations.
At the Kenya Navy Fleet (KNF), the students received a briefing on board Kenya Navy Ship (KNS) JASIRI, learning about its critical engineering systems before setting sail for a sea ride.
The tour underscored the Kenya Navy’s commitment to collaborate with institutions of higher learning to support maritime education and professional development.
