Kenyan peacekeepers serving under MONUSCO have once again demonstrated exceptional physical prowess after the Kenya Signal Company 3 (KENSIG 3) emerged top in the United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo (MONUSCO) Power Circuit – RVA Ultimate Endurance Event held at the Indian Level II Hospital in Eastern DRC.
The event, organized on 26 November 2025, aimed to enhance physical readiness, boost troop morale and strengthen inter-contingent cooperation. Operating under the theme “Endure – Perform – Dominate,” the challenge brought together nine teams drawn from eight military contingents deployed in the mission area.
Participants competed in a demanding 4.8-kilometre endurance circuit run followed by 150 push-ups, 150 squats, and 150 side jumps—tasks designed to test stamina, teamwork and mental resilience.
The Kenyan troops delivered an outstanding performance across all segments, securing first place overall and reinforcing Kenya’s reputation for excellence in fitness and discipline within peace support operations.
Individual Kenyan troops also shone, with Captain Simon Wateya emerging as the best overall performer in sit-ups, while Corporal Isaac Osanya claimed top honours in the side-jump category.
The competition not only promoted physical fitness but also enhanced camaraderie and mission cohesion among MONUSCO contingents operating in Eastern DRC.
