The Military Ordinariate of Kenya, under the leadership of Bishop Wallace Ng’ang’a, on 24th January 2026 flagged off a consignment of foodstuff and clothing destined for the Isiolo region, marking a significant act of charity and solidarity.
The event brought together the Roman Catholic faithful drawn from the Military Ordinariate of Kenya, who generously contributed the donations as part of activities marking the closure of the Jubilee Year of Hope celebrated last year. The initiative reflects the Church’s continued commitment to supporting vulnerable communities.
Addressing those present, Bishop Ng’ang’a emphasized the importance of compassion and shared responsibility in society. He noted that no one is too poor to give, underscoring that generosity is measured not by abundance but by the willingness to share what one has. He explained that the donations were fruits of sacrifice, love and solidarity offered in faith and charity.
The Bishop further clarified that the items are intended to support less privileged members of Isiolo County, particularly communities around the School of Infantry (SOI), School of Artillery (SOA) and School of Military Engineering (SOME). He acknowledged that donations from Catholic faithful in Mombasa and Eastern regions had already been delivered.
The event was attended by key military leadership, including the Commandant DHQ CAU Col G. Bebora and CO DHQ CAU Lt Col Wycliffe Barasa, who both acknowledged and commended the Church for its humanitarian efforts. Col Bebora urged those present to remain at the forefront of supporting the needy, noting that caring for others is a fundamental human responsibility.
The flag-off ceremony stood as a powerful reminder of the role of faith, unity and service in uplifting communities in need.
