MOI AIR BASE GRADUATES CERTIFIED DRIVERS

The Base Commander, Moi Air Base (MAB), Brigadier Bernard Oluoch, presided over the graduation of 60 AA Kenya graduates on Friday, 9th May 2025, at the MAB gymnasium. The course began on 16th January 2025, marking the start of a strong and mutually beneficial partnership aimed at empowering both military and civilian personnel with essential driving skills.

Speaking at the ceremony, Brigadier Oluoch reminded the graduates that driving is more than a mechanical skill—it is a mind-set. It demands awareness, good judgment, and respect for others. He added that the discipline shown throughout the course must guide them on the road, and they should be role models for road safety.

“To our graduates, congratulations. This moment signifies the successful completion of your training, but more importantly, it marks the beginning of your journey as responsible, disciplined, and safety-conscious road users. Your commitment, patience, and perseverance have brought you here today. You have not only learned how to operate a vehicle but have also gained skills that reflect maturity, accountability, and respect—the qualities we hold dear in both military and civilian service.”

He also encouraged those who have not yet begun the journey to be motivated to acquire driving skills, as it not only enhances personal independence but also opens up new pathways for growth and service.

Also speaking was the Branch Manager, Eastleigh AA Kenya, Mr. Morris Muinde, who expressed his gratitude to the Base and the Kenya Air Force at large for their support since the beginning of the course.

“Today is a testament to resilience, commitment, and determination. As you graduate, remember that a driver’s licence is not simply a card, it is a symbol of trust, and with it comes great responsibility. Always remain vigilant, courteous, and committed to continued learning on and off the road.”

Also present were Commander Logistics Command Colonel Benedetta Kikech, Commanding Officer HQ Wing, Lt Col Abubakar, Director of Mobility Services at AA Kenya, Mr. Timothy Keli, Director of Finance Strategy, Mr. Nahashon Njoroge; Service Members, and civilian staff.
