The Ministry of Defence is accelerating the implementation of priority national infrastructure projects overseen by the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) in the multi-agency, intergovernmental approach embraced by the Kenya Kwanza administration.
Principal Secretaries Dr Patrick Mariru (Defence) and Dr Ouma Oluga (Medical Services) on Friday inspected several ongoing projects in Narok and Siaya Counties.
In Narok, the Principal Secretaries were hosted by Governor Patrick Ole Ntutu at the new Narok Level 5 Hospital where KDF is overseeing the completion of the 500-bed health facility. MOD will soon kick-start the construction of a new Level IV hospital at Sogoo within the County.
In Siaya County, the Principal Secretaries visited Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Stadium and Siaya County Referral Hospital.
KDF will oversee the upgrading of Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Stadium to an ultra-modern multi-sport facility and the expansion of Siaya Level 5 hospital to a 500-bed referral facility.
The Principal Secretaries were accompanied by KDF’s Chief of Special Projects Brigadier Titus Sokobe and several senior Government officials.
