The Base Commander Moi Air Base Brigadier Herbert Wafula on 12th January 2026 presided over the opening of the Senior Leadership Command Course at the Kenya Air Force Training Wing (KTW), Moi Air Base.
The aim of the course is to equip Kenya Air Force Non Commissioned Officers with relevant knowledge and skills in leadership, command and management within the Kenya Defence Forces.
During the course, participants will undergo training in various subjects including leadership and management, drill and duties, skill at arms, map reading and navigation, as well as security and airfield procedures among other areas.
While addressing the participants, Brigadier Wafula encouraged them to uphold strong character, demonstrate confidence and embrace innovation in leadership.
“I would like to urge all of you to aim at being leaders of great character and confidence. Patience and perseverance will help you through the course. At the end of the course you must be able to show the ability to manage and administer any challenge that comes under your command,” he said.
Also present at the ceremony were the Commandant KTW, Colonel Stephen Munyao, senior officers, officers and service members.
