General Officer Commanding Eastern Command Major General Luka Kutto joined Christians at Joint Command and Staff College in celebrations of Family Harvest Thanks Giving mass at St Augustine Catholic Church, Karen Nairobi.
The celebrations were graced by Right Reverend Wallace Ng’ang’a, Bishop of the Military Ordinariate who also toured the College premises as part of his familiarisation tour of the College.
In his homily, Bishop Nganga emphasised the role and importance of family noting that it is God’s masterpiece and a reflection of His love and a beacon of hope in the world. He also called on the church community to support struggling families with compassion and humility without hopes of getting anything back in return.
”May the Holy Spirit guide us to cherish and uphold the family as a beacon of God’s love. Let us commit to fostering families that radiate faith, hope and charity, transforming our world for Christ. Above all, when lending help to the needy, do it selflessly, “said Bishop Ng’ang’a.
Speaking during the mass, Maj Gen Kutto encouraged the congregants to uphold family values in the society as no future thrives without strong family foundation. He further urged them to build homes that radiate God’s love, countering the chaos of modern life with faith, unity, and joy.
Also in attendance were Commandant JCSC Maj Gen Erick Kinuthia, Director IPSTC Maj Gen Charles Mwazighe, Ambassador Maj Gen (Rtd) Thomas Chepkuto, Senior Officers, Officers, Service Members and their families among other invited guests.
