VCDF OFFICIATES THE PAYMASTERS AND FINANCE OFFICERS SEMINAR

The Vice Chief of the Defence Forces, Lieutenant General John Omenda this week officiated over the opening ceremony of this year’s Annual Paymasters and Finance Officers Seminar at the Humanitarian Peace Support School (HPSS) in Embakasi, Nairobi.

Lt. Gen Omenda noted that Paymasters and Finance Officers bear the noble responsibility of safeguarding both Public and Non-public funds, hence the need for effective management of these resources for operational readiness.

” This year’s seminar presents a prime opportunity to explore the dynamic Financial landscape and best practices. I therefore urge each of you to share financial insights that will undoubtedly strengthen our Financial Acumen and enhance mission success.” He added.

The VCDF encouraged the finance experts to be guided by the principles of integrity and transparency in their day to day practices, in order to improve, uphold financial discipline and deliver on their responsibilities with excellence.

On his part, the Chief of Finance at the Defence Headquarters Brigadier Samuel Kipng’etich noted that the forum is essential in bringing together Paymasters to brainstorm critical financial knowledge, which is key in advising the command system on Financial Management.

The KDF Paymasters and Finance Officers 5-day seminar is an annual event that brings together finance experts to reflect on the experiences and challenges encountered during the past fiscal year and chart a forward-looking path anchored on best practices to overcome these challenges.

Present during the function were Senior Officers, Officers and Service Members.
