VCDF PRESIDES OVER THE KENYA DEFENCE FORCES GOLF ASSOCIATION PATRON’S PRIZE AWARD CEREMONY

The Vice Chief of Defence Forces and the patron of Kenya Defence Forces Golf Association (KDFGA) Lieutenant General Francis Ogolla presided over the KDFGA Patron’s prize ceremony at Kenya Airforce Golf Club,Moi Airbase, in an event graced by former Defence Cabinet Secretary Amb. Monica Juma on 23 October 2021.

The golf session is part of the Ministry of Defence (MOD) wellness programme that maintains phyisical fitness, which is crucial for the execution of the soldiers’ core mandate.

Speaking during the event, the VCDF Lt Gen Ogolla lauded the event sponsors, and all golfers who participated in the event and looked forward to a successful Army Commander’s tournament over the weekend at Thika Barracks.

The winners in various categories included Bob Odhiambo (Longest Drive Men), Lt Col P Mitei (Best 2nd nine) Carolyne Akeyo (Longest Drive Women), Charles Kikuvi (Nearest to the Pin and Guest Winner) Major H Wanyama (runners up Nearest to the Pin) and A Siego (Lady Overall Winner).

The tournament comprised of players from KDF golfers, retired KDF General Officers and Officers and various golfers from other golf clubs within Nairobi and across the Country.
