Moi Air Base (MAB) on Friday 20th June 2025, hosted aviation students from Mangu High School for an educational tour aimed at exposing them to practical aspects of aeronautical engineering and air operations.
The visit began with a formal reception and orientation session. During the morning briefing, the students were introduced to the organizational structure of the Kenya Air Force, its operational mandate, and the strategic importance of air power in national defence.
The students were then given insights into the Kenya Air Force’s fleet capabilities. They learned about the operation and maintenance of various aircraft platforms that serve diverse roles such as combat, troop and cargo transport, aerial surveillance, training, and humanitarian missions.
Following the briefing sessions, the students embarked on a guided tour of key operational facilities. The students were exposed to real-time aircraft maintenance procedures and educated on the functions and importance of various hangars and avionics systems.
The educational trip aimed to broaden the students’ understanding of aviation technology and inspire them toward careers in the aerospace and defence sectors. The various presentations challenged them to aspire to become future experts and leaders in defending and safeguarding Kenya’s airspace.
The visit not only enriched the students’ academic experience but also strengthened the link between the Kenya Air Force and institutions nurturing future aviators. Such engagements continue to play a vital role in mentoring young minds and cultivating national pride, responsibility, and service.
