The Joint Command and Staff College (JCSC) held the closing ceremony for the Directing Staff Pre-Course Clinic and Defence Instructional Techniques (DIT) Seminar, conducted from 2 July 2025 to 11 July 2025. The ceremony was presided over by the Deputy Commandant and Chief Instructor, Brigadier D K Chesire, accompanied by Lieutenant Colonel Were, the acting Head of the Writing Team (HOWT).
The objective of the clinic was to acquaint the Directing Staff with their instructional duties and the standard operations of the College, whereas the seminar aimed to enhance the instructional skills of the Directing Staff.
In his remarks, Brig Chesire commended the participating senior officers for their successful completion of the clinic and seminar. He highlighted that the clinic aimed at enhancing the Directing Staff’s ability to adhere to instructional standards and fulfil the demanding responsibilities of their roles. He emphasized that the directing staff’s example, character, judgment and instructional approach significantly influence the quality of graduates produced by the College. He urged them to equip student officers with the skills to command, think critically and lead with integrity in a rapidly evolving environment.
Further, the Deputy Commandant expressed gratitude to the Defence Forces School of Education and Languages (DEFSEL) facilitators, led by Lt Col Mohamud Mahdi who represented the Commandant, for their effective preparation and delivery of the Defence Instructional Techniques (DIT) lessons.
