JUBALAND STATE MINISTER OF HEALTH VISITS AUSSOM-KDF COMMANDER DHOBLEY

Officials from Jubaland Ministry of Health recently paid a courtesy call on the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) Commander in Dhobley, Col. Morris Wasomi, in a step towards strengthening collaboration in the Somalia’s Jubaland region.

The Ministry’s delegation, led by Director General Mahamed Hussein, assessed achievements and identified areas for further cooperation. Discussions centered on ways of bettering the working relationship between Dhobley community and AUSSOM troops at Dhobley Main Operation Base (MOB), the positive impacts of Civil-Military Cooperation (CIMIC) activities at the Dhobley Level II Hospital which allows treatment of locals within the MOB, and the ongoing mentorship programs. These initiatives have supported both patient care and medical training, preparing locals to contribute as future health professionals.

Both sides explored opportunities for collaboration on wider community health initiatives, including health education and disease prevention programs. Jubaland State Director for Planning, Abdirahman Ibrahim expressed appreciation for the reception and pledged continued partnership with KDF troops to improve healthcare outcomes. Col Wasomi reaffirmed the military’s support for health programs and emphasized the importance of building lasting partnerships.

Also present were AUSSOM KDF Officers, Jubaland State Medical Services Director Ismail Aden and Health Advisor Garad Aden, among others.
