Defence Cabinet Secretary Hon. Soipan Tuya, in the company of Nakuru County Governor Hon. Susan Kihika, on 13 October 2025 presided over the ground-breaking ceremony of Olenguruone Stadium in Kuresoi South, Nakuru County.
The event marks a significant step in enhancing sports infrastructure in the region a shared vision between the Ministry of Defence and the Nakuru County Government under the able leadership of H.E. Susan Kihika.
The new stadium is poised to become a hub for nurturing youth talent, promoting sports excellence, and boosting community development.
The sports facility, is envisioned as a multi purpose centre for athletics, entertainment, and public events. Upon completion, it will open doors to new social and economic opportunities for the residents of Olenguruone and surrounding areas.
Speaking during the ceremony CS Tuya reaffirmed the Ministry’s full commitment to supervising and overseeing the construction to the highest standards, working closely with the Nakuru County Government to ensure timely and quality delivery of the project.
This development reflects a broader commitment by both national and county governments to invest in infrastructure that empowers communities, fosters youth engagement, and stimulates regional growth.
Also present was Defence Principal Secretary, Dr. Patrick Mariru, Area Member of Parliament, Hon. Tonui Joseph Kipkosgey among other local leaders.
