PRINCIPAL CHAPLAIN OFFICIATES BLESSING OF NEW CHURCH SITE AT NAROK FORWARD OPERATING BASE

The Principal Chaplain of the Anglican Church at Defence Headquarters, Colonel (Rev) Granton M. Mwanyanya, presided over the blessing of a newly designated church site at the Narok Forward Operating Base (FOB), marking a key step toward establishing a permanent worship facility for troops stationed in the area.

The ceremony was conducted in line with the commander Kenya Air Force’s intention to strengthen spiritual support for personnel operating at the FOB.

Speaking to the troops shortly after the blessing, Col (Rev) Mwanyanya underscored the vital role of spiritual grounding in enhancing the resilience and mission readiness of service members.He urged the personnel to consistently place God at the centre of their duties and daily lives.

“Mission readiness begins with putting the Lord God first. A spiritually anchored force is a stronger, more focused force,” he said.

The establishment of the church site is expected to provide a place of worship, reflection, and spiritual nourishment for the troops deployed at Narok FOB, contributing to improved morale and overall wellbeing.

Also present during the event was, Service Chaplain Col (Rev) Charles Okapesi, Officers and Service members.
