Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) troops serving under the African Union Support and Stabilization Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM) and deployed in Kismayo conducted a free Medical Outreach at Wadajir village, within the outskirts of Kismayo town.
The medical outreach witnessed KDF medical personnel attend to over a hundred members of the local community, treating common ailments like skin infections among children, common cold for the aged, urinary tract infections, and upper respiratory tract infections as well as dental cases. Patients were treated on site, while those presenting complications or requiring further evaluation were referred to the camp’s Level 1 Plus hospital for specialized medical care.
The medical outreach is part of AUSSOM’s ongoing humanitarian support efforts to help local Somali communities access basic services such as health care, as the mission focuses on stabilization of Somalia to complement continued security operations.
