Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) based at Dadajabula area conducted a vital Civil-Military Cooperation (CIMIC) mission in Wajir County. In a move to foster the bond between military and civilian population, the troops spearheaded distribution of clean water to the residents of Elema Settlement.
This humanitarian intervention comes at a time when the region is struggling with a severe drought that has threatened both human lives and the livestock upon which the local community depends. Many households directly benefitted from the initiative. The KDF contributed to preservation of livelihoods and the overall well-being of citizens within the Area of Responsibility. This exercise served as a strategic platform for engagement enabling the military leadership to consult with local leaders and elders.
The discussions highlighted symbiotic relationship between security forces and community welfare, commending the locals for their continued cooperation in maintaining the region’s stability. The local leadership expressed gratitude for the KDF’s responsiveness, noting that the military’s presence in Sabuli Sub-County offers much more than security. The KDF has become a pillar of hope, demonstrating a unique blend of professional vigilance and genuine compassion by extending a helping hand whenever called upon.
This mission underscores the KDF’s main objective to foster a secure environment where peace is sustained through mutual trust and the shared goal of a resilient thriving local community.
