SENEGALESE DEFENCE INSTITUTE WAR COLLEGE DELEGATION VISITS JCSC

The Joint Command and Staff College (JCSC) yesterday welcomed a 36-member delegation from the Senegalese Defence Institute War College for an educational study visit focused on advancing professional military education cooperation and exchanging institutional knowledge and experiences.

Led by Brigadier General Abdou Latif Kamara, Director of the Institute, the delegation comprised staff, faculty members and student officers from Senegal, Mauritania, Morocco, Gabon, Guinea, France, Rwanda, Cameroon, Mali, Togo and Côte d’Ivoire.

Upon arrival, Brigadier General Kamara and the rest of the delegation were warmly received by Brigadier David Chesire, the Deputy Commandant/Chief Instructor, JCSC. The delegation was later hosted for a luncheon before convening at the Central Lecture Hall (CLH) for a comprehensive briefing on the College.

The visit featured an interactive discussion session under the theme “ National Defence Industry: Sovereignty and Strategic Partnership .” Participants exchanged views on defence education, defence industries and strategic cooperation, with JCSC staff addressing questions raised by the delegation.

In his remarks, Brigadier Chesire reaffirmed JCSC’s commitment to strengthening professional military education partnerships across Africa and beyond. He expressed optimism for future collaboration with the Senegalese Defence Institute War College, highlighting opportunities for academic exchanges and broader institutional cooperation.

The visit underscored the critical role of international military education partnerships in fostering mutual understanding, professional development and regional security cooperation.
