Seamless leadership transitions are vital for maintaining momentum and excellence in professional military education. They ensure continuity, preserve institutional knowledge, and sustain the highest standards of training and leadership development.
This practice was reflected in a formal handing over ceremony at the Joint Command and Staff College (JCSC) on 29 June 2026 in which Brigadier David Chesire transferred the duties of Deputy Commandant/Chief Instructor to Brigadier Seif Rashid.
The Deputy Commandant/Chief Instructor’s role involves coordinating professional military training programmes, advising the Commandant and overseeing the Senior and Junior Joint Command and Staff Courses.
Brigadier Chesire thanked the JCSC community for their support during his tenure and encouraged staff to maintain the institution’s high standards of professional military education.
