COMMANDER KAF ADVANCES STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIPS AT GLOBAL AIR AND SPACE FORUMS

International engagement remains vital in strengthening air power, fostering strategic partnerships and keeping pace with emerging technologies that shape the future of military aviation. In line with this commitment, the Commander Kenya Air Force (KAF), Major General Bernard Waliaula, participated in the Chief of the Air Staff’s Global Air & Space Chiefs’ Conference (GASCC26) and the Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT) held in London, United Kingdom, from 15 to 19 July 2026.

The Chief of the Air Staff’s Global Air & Space Chiefs’ Conference, held from 15 to 16 July 2026, brought together Air and Space Force Commanders and senior representatives from more than eighty countries. Held under the theme “Dominating the Skies and Beyond: Agile, Integrated and Ready,” the conference provided a strategic platform for military leaders to exchange perspectives on the evolving air and space domain, discuss emerging security challenges and strengthen international cooperation in air and space operations.

On the sidelines of the conference and during the Royal International Air Tattoo, Major General Waliaula held engagements with international delegations and industry leaders, focusing on aviation safety, professional training, advanced air systems and emerging technologies. He also toured exhibition stands showcasing next generation aircraft platforms, unmanned aerial systems and innovative capabilities that are shaping the future of air operations. Additionally, the Commander paid a courtesy call on Kenya’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Ambassador Maurice Makoloo, at his office.

Major General Waliaula’s participation reaffirmed the Kenya Air Force’s commitment to strengthening strategic partnerships, enhancing operational capability and embracing innovation in support of its ongoing modernization agenda. The engagements further underscored Kenya’s dedication to developing a professional, adaptive and mission ready Air Force capable of responding effectively to evolving security challenges at the national, regional and global levels.
