The Kenya Air Force continues to strengthen strategic defence partnerships as a cornerstone of enhancing operational readiness, professional excellence and collective security. On 31 July 2026, the Commander Kenya Air Force, Major General Bernard Waliaula, hosted a delegation from the Massachusetts National Guard led by the Adjutant General, Major General Gary Keefe, at Kenya Air Force Headquarters for a high level bilateral engagement aimed at deepening defence cooperation and advancing air power capabilities.
Major General Keefe, accompanied by Colonel Chad Forrest, Lieutenant Colonel John Schrader and other members, paid a courtesy call on Major General Waliaula before leading their respective teams in bilateral discussions.
The discussions focused on expanding cooperation in professional military training, innovation and logistics support, to strengthen operational readiness in addressing contemporary and emerging security challenges.
Major General Waliaula underscored the value of the longstanding partnership between the Kenya Air Force and the Massachusetts National Guard, noting that sustained collaboration continues to enhance operational excellence, capability development and regional security.
Major General Keefe reaffirmed the Massachusetts National Guard’s commitment to strengthening defence cooperation with the Kenya Air Force through continued engagements, knowledge sharing and joint capacity building initiatives.
The visit concluded with an exchange of mementoes, symbolising the enduring friendship and strategic partnership between the Kenya Air Force and the Massachusetts National Guard. The engagement reaffirmed the shared commitment of both institutions to strengthening institutional partnerships and promoting regional peace, security and stability.
