As Africa confronts evolving security challenges, strengthening military education and institutional collaboration remains essential. The Joint Command and Staff College (JCSC) reinforced this commitment by participating in the 19th African Conference of Commandants (ACoC), hosted by the Command and Staff College, Tanzania in Arusha, from 27–31 July 2026.
The College was represented by the Chief Instructor Brigadier Seif S Rashid accompanied by Lieutenant Colonel G K Koech, Directing Staff. The conference brought together military leaders from Command and Staff Colleges across 12 African countries to exchange best practices and strengthen professional partnerships.
Opening the conference, the Commandant, Command and Staff College, Tanzania Major General Stephen Mnkande, underscored Africa’s collective commitment to developing strategic leaders and strengthening military professionalism.
The Chief Instructor JCSC noted that the forum enhanced institutional cooperation and promoted innovation in military education. The conference recommendations will inform deliberations at the forthcoming Commandants’ Meeting in Arusha in November 2026.
