Strong relations between security forces and local communities remain essential to sustaining peace and stability in areas affected by conflict.
Personnel from Bilis Qoqani Temporary Operating Base (TOB), under the African Union Support and Stabilization Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM), conducted a Key Leadership Engagement (KLE) and Civil-Military Cooperation (CIMIC) activity in Bilis Qoqani Town.
The engagement brought together local leaders and community members and included a medical outreach and distribution of clean drinking water.
During the medical outreach, 85 residents received treatment for common ailments and health education. Limited medical supplies were also donated to the local dispensary to supplement available resources.
The team further distributed clean drinking water to 30 households, two mosques and the local dispensary, providing relief to residents facing persistent water shortages.
The engagement provided an opportunity for constructive interaction between AUSSOM personnel, local leadership and the community, strengthening mutual trust and confidence.
The activities were conducted in a calm and stable security environment, demonstrating the value of sustained engagement between security forces and the communities they serve.
