Excellence in professional military education is strengthened through continuous reflection, accountability and purposeful leadership. This was evident at the Joint Command and Staff College (JCSC), Karen, on Wednesday, 23 September 2026, during the College Control Board Meeting.
The Meeting was chaired by the Vice Chief of the Defence Forces (VCDF), Lieutenant General John Omenda, and brought together Service Commanders and Board members to review the College’s performance and progress in fulfilling its mandate, as guided by its Charter and Strategic Plan.
The meeting also provided an opportunity for the VCDF and Board members, led by the Commandant, Major General Eric Kinuthia, to tour the College’s facilities and ongoing infrastructure projects. The visit offered a first-hand appreciation of the developments supporting a conducive environment for learning and professional growth.
The engagement reaffirmed the importance of effective oversight in sustaining JCSC’s role as a centre of excellence in professional military education, while remaining responsive to the dynamism in command and staff training requirements.
