STRENGTHENING REGIONAL SECURITY THROUGH ACADEMIC EXCHANGE

Educational visits among professional military institutions provide an important platform for strategic dialogue, knowledge sharing and the strengthening of regional partnerships. In this spirit, the Joint Command and Staff College (JCSC) hosted a delegation of Directing Staff and students from the Zimbabwe Staff College on 28 July 2026. The delegation was led by the Chief Instructor.Colonel William Mangwiro and accompanied by the Zimbabwe Defence Attaché to the Kenya, Brigadier General David Moyo.

The study tour, conducted under the theme “The Nexus Between Economic Development and National Security,” sought to enhance participants’ understanding of international relations. Upon arrival, the delegation was warmly received by the Commandant JCSC, Major General Eric Kinuthia before being briefed on the College’s mandate, training programmes and role in developing strategic military leaders.

The visit reaffirmed the longstanding partnership between the Joint Command and Staff College and the Zimbabwe Staff College, underscoring the value of academic exchanges in strengthening professional military education, promoting regional cooperation and enhancing collective security.
