AUSSOM-KDF OUTREACH IN KULMIS VILLAGE, DHOBLEY

Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) troops serving under the African Union Support and Stabilization Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM) based at Dhobley conducted a community outreach to Kulmis Village on the outskirts of Dhobley town.

During the engagement, troops distributed clean drinking water to households and the local dispensary. They also set up a Medical Camp where locals received diagnostic services and treatment for a range of illnesses.

Representing the community, the area nursing officer Mohammed Harer and village elder Mohammed Ibrahim both thanked the troops, describing the support as timely and greatly beneficial to families in the area.

The outreach was led Major David Obwiri, of KDF accompanied by Maj Juliet Yegon. He praised the strong ties between AUSSOM-KDF and local communities and urged residents to continue cooperating with security agencies to sustain peace.

The outreach is part of AUSSOM’s ongoing efforts to build lasting relationships with local communities and help them access basic needs, not just through security operations, but also through humanitarian support services.
