The newly appointed Base Commander of Wajir Air Base (WAB), Brigadier Bernard Oluoch, conducted a series of familiarisation visits to various units within the base during the week. The purpose of the visits was to assess operational readiness and gain a deeper understanding of the working environment, personnel, and equipment across the units.
Brigadier Oluoch visited the Air Defence Wing (ADW), Rapid Response Unit (RRU), and the Narok Forward Operational Base. At each location, he was briefed on the operational capabilities, equipment, and installations by the respective Commanding Officers.
While addressing the troops, Brigadier Oluoch emphasized the importance of discipline and professionalism in the execution of their duties. He reminded the personnel of their critical role in national defence, stating that the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) remain a key pillar in safeguarding the country’s airspace and maintaining internal security.
He further urged all personnel to remain committed to the core values of the military and to uphold unwavering loyalty to the nation.
The Base Commander was accompanied by senior officers and Commanding Officers from Wajir Air Base throughout the tour.
