CDF HOSTS FAMILY BANK LEADERSHIP

The Chief of the Kenya Defence Forces (CDF), General Charles Kahariri, on 3rd February 2026 hosted the Founder and Non-Executive Director of Family Bank Limited, Mr. Titus Muya, who was accompanied by the Bank’s Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, Ms. Nancy Njau, at Defence Headquarters.

The Family Group Foundation and Family Bank Limited partner with the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) through the Military Wives Association of Kenya (MWAK) to support youth development and entrepreneurship programmes within the KDF. These initiatives are designed to empower young people by equipping them with vocational, enterprise development, and practical life skills. The programmes specifically target KDF youth dependants by offering accessible, industry-relevant training aimed at enhancing employability, entrepreneurship, and economic empowerment. In addition, the partnership provides high school scholarships to bright but needy orphans.

During the meeting, the CDF expressed appreciation for the continued support extended by the Family Group Foundation and Family Bank to KDF families, including both serving and retired personnel. He further commended the institutions for their community initiatives, environmental programmes- including support to the Environmental Soldier Programme- and livelihood projects that benefit KDF members, their dependants, and the country at large.
