COMMANDER KENYA NAVY PRESIDES OVER SIGNING OF PERFORMANCE CONTRACTS 

Commander Kenya Navy, Major General Paul Otieno presided over the official signing of Performance Contracts for the Financial Year 2025/2026 at the Kenya Navy Headquarters in Mtongwe, Mombasa County.

The Performance Contracts set out specific strategic objectives and performance targets, forming a critical roadmap to guide naval Formations and Units in executing their mandate of safeguarding Kenya’s maritime sovereignty and territorial integrity.

In his remarks, Major General Otieno lauded Formation Commanders and Principal Staff Officers for their consistent commitment and professionalism in the execution of their duties. He emphasized the importance of continued adherence to resource management protocols, urging the officers to uphold the high standards of accountability and operational excellence that define the service.

Major General Otieno further highlighted that the contracts are vital instruments of accountability and mission focus. He affirmed his commitment to fostering competency development through training by providing access to both local and international courses, aligned with the planned forecast. Additionally, he reiterated his dedication to implementing the Presidential Directive on the National Tree Growing Restoration Campaign.

Present during the event was Deputy Commander Kenya Navy, Brigadier Sankale Kiswaa, Commander Kenya Navy Fleet, Brigadier Mohamed Shemote, Commander Kenya Navy Base Mtongwe, Brigadier William Kiprotich, Commander Kenya Navy Base Manda Bay, Brigadier Lazarus Wafula, Chief of Naval Medical Services, Brigadier (Dr) Justino Muinde alongside other Formation Commanders and Principal Staff Officers.
