Defence Cabinet Secretary Hon Soipan Tuya on 30 July 2025 presided over the signing of the Ministry of Defence (MOD) Departmental Performance Contracts for the 2025-26 Financial Year with Heads of Department (HODs) led by Principal Secretary Dr Patrick Mariru.
The exercise, witnessed by the Principal Secretary for National Government Coordination Hon Ahmed Ibrahim Abdisalaan, made MOD the first Government entity to undertake the 2nd Level Performance Contracts signing activity.
The signing of the 22nd cycle Performance Contracts reaffirmed MOD’s commitment to its constitutional and legal mandate as outlined in Article 241 of the Constitution, the Kenya Defence Forces Act (2012), and Executive Order No. 1 of 2025.
Most importantly, the Performance Contracts translate MOD’s broad mandate into measurable, results-oriented targets that are fully aligned with the Government’s Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA), Kenya Vision 2030’s Medium-Term Plan IV (MTP-IV) and Presidential Directives among other frameworks.
Also present were Principal Administrative Secretary (PAS) for Performance Management Mr Joshua Mwiranga and KDF’s Chief of Strategic Policy and Plans Brig Ronald Makori.
