DEFENCE HEADQUARTERS CATHOLIC CHURCH OBSERVES FAMILY DAY THANKS GIVING MASS

The Kenya Defence Forces Roman Catholic faithful today on 20th September 2025, congregated for a family day thanksgiving at St. Peter & Paul Cathedral at the Defence Headquarters, Nairobi.

The Mass was presided over by the Bishop of the Military Ordinariate of Kenya Right Reverend Wallace Ngang’a.

While addressing the faithful, Bishop Wallace reminded them to always give thanks to God for everything, including the gift of life. He added that thanksgiving is a critical element in Christian life and encouraged them to remain strong in faith in Christ.

He further called upon the Christians to walk in obedience and have the urge to know God and walk closely with Him. “There is no way we can come into a close relationship with God and walk fully in the blessings of Christ without obeying Him,” he said.

The Chief Guest, Commander Kenya Army Lieutenant General David Keter expressed his gratitude thanking everyone for attending the event as this is obedience to God. He inspired the congregation to continue keeping the faith and never tire to serve God at any given time.

General Officer Commanding Eastern Command (EASTCOM), Major General Luka Kutto, who is also the Patron of the deanery, acknowledged the efforts of the faithful in enabling today’s family day to be a success. Additionally, Maj Gen Kutto encouraged the faithful to keep on the faith in their daily endeavors.

The concept of family day not only reflects the communal spirit of the military but also provides a platform for celebrating love and commitment amidst the demands of military life.

Present during the event were Joint Command and Staff College Commandant Major General Eric Kinuthia, Senior Officers, Officers, Service Members, and their families.
