The Deputy Commander Kenya Navy, Brigadier Sankale Kiswaa, recently presided over the graduation ceremony of Senior Leadership Course (SLC) Class 01 of 2025/2026, held at 15 Kenya Rifles in Kilifi County.
The eleven-week course, a mandatory requirement for all Senior Non-Commissioned Officers (SNCOs) within the Kenya Defence Forces, is designed to develop strategic thinking, decision-making and advanced leadership competencies necessary for effective operational and administrative management.
In his keynote address, Brigadier Kiswaa emphasized the importance of translating the knowledge gained during the course into tangible leadership impact across Kenya Navy formations and units.
“The objective of this course has been clear, to equip you with leadership, command, management and administrative skills necessary to assume higher responsibilities in your respective formations and units. I am pleased to note that your overall performance has been rated above average,” he stated.
He also commended the directing staff, instructors and administrative teams for their professionalism and commitment, which was reflected in the performance of the graduating cohort.
Lieutenant Colonel Ernest Ndirangu, Deputy Commandant Kenya Naval Training College (KNTC), congratulated the graduates and urged them to uphold Kenya Navy values as they return to their units.
“As you return to your respective units, I urge you to be worthy ambassadors of Kenya Navy by applying the knowledge, skills and values imparted to you in your operational environments,” he said.
The Kenya Navy remains dedicated to strengthening mission readiness and operational excellence through ongoing professional development of service personnel.
Present at the ceremony was Colonel Robert Birech, Deputy Commander Kenya Navy Fleet, Senior Officers, Officers, Instructors and graduates.
