GLOBAL HONOUR, NATIONAL PRIDE

In an event that underscores the growing global stature of Kenya’s military leadership, Commander Kenya Air Force, Major General Bernard Waliaula, has been inducted into the International Honour Roll at Air University, Montgomery — one of the United States Air Force’s most prestigious recognitions for international graduates.

The honour is reserved for exceptional officers who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement and exemplary leadership, and who go on to serve at the highest levels of command in their home countries. Major General Waliaula earned this distinction following stellar performance during his Grade 3 and Grade 1 staff courses in 1996 and 2011 respectively, coupled with a distinguished and impactful career in the Kenya Air Force.

His induction is a powerful affirmation of strategic foresight, professional excellence, and unwavering commitment to service. It places him among a select cadre of globally recognized military leaders shaping the future of international security and cooperation.

Beyond individual achievement, the recognition reflects the rising influence of the Kenya Defence Forces in the global arena. It highlights sustained investment in advanced military education, leadership development, and international partnerships—key pillars that continue to position Kenya as a credible and respected contributor to regional and global stability.

As Kenya’s military footprint expands in both operational and diplomatic spheres, honours such as this reinforce the country’s reputation for cultivating leaders who excel not only in command, but also in thought leadership and strategic engagement on the world stage.
