Defence Principal Secretary, Dr. Patrick Mariru joined senior Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) leadership at the Joint Command and Staff College (JCSC), Karen, for the first Control Board meeting of the Financial Year 2025/26.
The quarterly meeting, held under the chairmanship of the Vice Chief of the Defence Forces (VCDF), Lieutenant General John Omenda, aimed at reviewing the college’s performance for the just concluded Financial Year 2024/25 and to realign strategic priorities for the current year.
Prior to the meeting, Dr. Mariru accompanied the College Commandant, Major General Erick Kinuthia, and other senior officers for a site inspection of ongoing development projects within the college. These included a nearly completed chapel which is at 95% complete, a newly constructed administration block designated for the Joint Command and Staff Course, and upgraded changing rooms at the swimming pool, designed to improve user privacy.
The JCSC Control Board plays a pivotal role in steering the college’s academic and infrastructure development agenda, ensuring it remains aligned with the strategic objectives of the KDF.
Also in attendance were members of the JCSC Control Board and senior military officers.
