On 10 February 2026, Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) troops based in the Wajir area conducted a Civil–Military Cooperation (CIMIC) operation to deliver water to Bojiyare Comprehensive School in Wajir West Sub-County.
The intervention followed an assessment of the school’s deteriorating water supply confirmed by the School leadership. The ongoing drought has caused a severe water crisis in the area leading to potential disruption of learning activities.
The operation, in addition to being a humanitarian gesture, provided a strategic avenue for the KDF to mitigate a critical vulnerability that threatened to displace the student population in search of water.
The teaching staff and students expressed sincere gratitude for the KDF’s support in ensuring that learning continues seamlessly in the school.
The mission highlights the KDF’s unwavering commitment to protect not only the borders of the Republic but also the future of the communities within them.
