Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) remains committed to promoting sustainable peace and security through meaningful humanitarian engagements that address the welfare of communities while strengthening civil-military relations. By supporting vulnerable populations, KDF continues to foster trust, resilience and a shared sense of responsibility towards building peaceful and secure communities. In line with this commitment, KDF troops deployed in the Diff area conducted a Civil-Military Cooperation (CIMIC) activity comprising a free medical camp and a food distribution exercise aimed at improving the well-being of local residents.
During the medical camp, members of the local community, particularly children, women, and the elderly, received free medication for a wide range of common ailments. The exercise significantly improved access to essential healthcare services for vulnerable members of the community who often face challenges in obtaining timely medical care.
To complement the medical outreach, KDF troops distributed food hampers to needy families, providing critical relief to households experiencing food insecurity. The initiative reflected KDF’s enduring commitment to supporting communities beyond its constitutional mandate of safeguarding the nation’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, demonstrating that compassion and service remain central to its operations.
Speaking during the exercise, the Officer Commanding Diff reaffirmed the KDF’s dedication to fostering strong partnerships with local communities through humanitarian initiatives that improve livelihoods, enhance social well-being, and contribute to lasting peace and stability.
Community members expressed their appreciation to KDF for the timely medical services and food assistance, noting that the outreach had positively impacted their lives while reinforcing the strong bond between the military and the people. Overally, the outreach reaffirmed that sustainable security is achieved not only through operational excellence but also through compassion, partnership, and continuous engagement with the communities KDF serves, leaving a lasting impact on the lives of the people of Diff.
