Base Commander Moi Air Base, Brigadier Herbert Wafula, who also chairs the Defence Forces Taekwondo Association, recently received the Nakuru Open Taekwondo League Championship trophy from the KDF Ulinzi Taekwondo team at Moi Air Base Headquarters, Nairobi.
The Ulinzi team dominated the Nakuru Open Championship held at Egerton University, securing first position in both the men’s and women’s team categories to emerge overall champions. The tournament featured 25 teams from across the country, showcasing top talent and discipline in adherence to World Taekwondo standards.
Brigadier Wafula congratulated the athletes for their outstanding performance, emphasizing that maintaining excellence requires continuous effort and discipline.
The championship aims to promote taekwondo as a sport of fitness and self-defence, enhance national rankings, and nurture future national and international talent.
