KMA COMBATIVE INSTRUCTORS VALIDATION

KMA COMBATIVE INSTRUCTORS VALIDATION

The Kenya Military Academy (KMA) conducted validation of Academy Physical Training Combative Instructors on 9th February 2026 in collaboration with Kenya Taekwondo Federation (KTF) at Lanet, Nakuru.

The technical cooperation with experts from KTF marks a vital benchmark in KMA’s mission to institutionalize hand to hand combat proficiency.

The validation was geared towards vetting the instructors in a process designed to transition their skills towards combat readiness application. This is in line with the goal to elevate professional standards within cadet training. The combative mastery is a training force multiplier in that the skills are essential pillars of mental resilience, discipline and close quarter combat.

The demonstrations by instructors showcased both individual and collective tactical aggression leading to the award of combative instructor certification. This formally transitions KMA as an instructor-led combative martial arts institution reinforcing the Kenya Defence Forces’ reputation as a professional force.

Presiding over the ceremony on behalf of the Commandant, Major General Major General Joel M’arimi, Chief Instructor Brigadier John Kipya highlighted the achievement as a critical component in KDF’s combat readiness posture.
