KMA INSTRUCTORS’ CLINIC KICKS OFF

The Kenya Military Academy (KMA) has officially launched the Instructors’ Clinic Course at its Headquarters in Lanet, Nakuru. The opening ceremony was presided over by the Deputy Commandant and Chief Instructor, Brig J. K. Kipya, accompanied by the Commandant Officer Cadet School , Col E. L. Lovega, and Heads of Departments.

The course is designed to acquaint instructors with their instructional responsibilities and the day-to-day operations of the Academy. Key areas of focus include the fundamentals of Defence Instructional Techniques (DIT), the cadet training concept, and curriculum orientation, among others.

In his opening address, the Deputy Commandant welcomed the newly posted instructors and underscored their critical role in shaping future military leaders. He urged them to uphold professionalism, integrity, and objectivity while fostering a culture of constructive assessment. He further encouraged them to demonstrate commitment to mentorship, accuracy in reporting, and principled leadership.

KMA conducts Instructors’ Clinics regularly to prepare its staff for instructional duties. These clinics equip both new and continuing instructors with the knowledge and skills required to deliver instructional excellence, thereby laying a firm foundation for nurturing future leaders of the Kenya Defence Forces and allied militaries.
