Laikipia Air Base (LAB) this week held an inter-wings sports tournament aimed at promoting teamwork, physical fitness, and esprit de corps among personnel. The event was graced by the Base Commander, Brigadier Mohamud Farah.
The competition featured various disciplines including football, volleyball, netball, basketball, handball, athletics, and tug of war, bringing together teams from different wings within the base.
In the results, the Technical Wing emerged winners in men’s football and volleyball, while LAB Headquarter (HQ) Wing claimed victory in women’s football, volleyball, netball, and basketball. LAB HQ Wing continued their strong performance by emerging winners in athletics, as the Tactical Fighter Wing (TFW) secured victory in tug of war and the Aviation Centre of Excellence (ACE) showcased great teamwork to win the handball category.
The event was sponsored by Stima Sacco, Cooperative Bank, Tuvaa Hotel, and AA Kenya, whose support contributed to the success of the tournament.
Brigadier Farah commended all participants for their sportsmanship and dedication, noting that such competitions play a vital role in enhancing unity, discipline, and mission readiness among Service personnel.
