On the 10th of June 2025, Moi Air Base(MAB) Pre-school came alive with a vibrant display of culture and talent during its annual Cultural and Talent Day. The auspicious event was graced by the Commander of the Kenya Air Force(KAF), Major General Fatuma Ahmed, who served as the Chief Guest.
The day was a testament to the school’s commitment to nurturing not only academic excellence but also the rich cultural heritage and innate talents of its young learners. The air buzzed with excitement as parents, teachers, and invited guests watched the children showcase an array of performances, from traditional dances and songs to captivating recitations and creative skits.
In her address, the Commander KAF, Major General Fatuma Ahmed, expressed how humbled and pleased she was by the children’s remarkable presentations.
“It gives me immense pride and joy to witness this vibrant celebration of our rich heritage and the extraordinary talent of our young ones,” she stated, highlighting the significance of such events in shaping the future of the nation.
The Base Commander MAB, Brigadier Bernard Oluoch, echoed her sentiments, expressing his appreciation to Maj Gen Ahmed for taking time out of her demanding schedule to honor the event with her presence. He lauded the children for their exceptional performances, remarking on how they had made everyone proud.
In her welcoming remarks, the school’s Headteacher, Madam Tabitha Obudho, extended heartfelt gratitude to the Base Commander for the unwavering support the school has received over the years. Madam Obudho emphasized the profound importance of cultural preservation, stating, “Culture is not just in tradition but in our youngest generation.” Her words underscored the school’s dedication to instilling a sense of cultural identity and pride from an early age.
MAB Pre-school Cultural and Talent Day 2025 was a resounding success, serving as a powerful reminder of the importance of cultural education and talent development in the formative years. It showcased the collaborative spirit between the Kenya Air Force and the school community, all working towards nurturing well-rounded individuals who will contribute positively to society.
