Moi Air Base Primary School held a grand award ceremony on 21 May 2025 to celebrate its exceptional achievements at the 63rd Kenya National Drama and Film Festival, held in Nakuru County. The event, led by the Commander Kenya Air Force (KAF), Major General Fatuma Ahmed, was attended by members of the school community, parents, military personnel, and education stakeholders.
The school was recognized as the Best Lower Primary School Nationally in the Choral Verse category. Their captivating performance of “Hadithi Yetu” impressed both judges and audiences with its powerful message and artistic delivery.
The celebration featured vibrant performances from the winning team, traditional dances, and a variety of artistic displays. Outstanding pupils were awarded medals, certificates, and gifts, with top performers commended for their exceptional acting, narration, and stage presence.
In her speech, Major General Fatuma Ahmed praised the pupils for their excellence, acknowledging the dedication and hard work that brought honor not only to Moi Air Base but also to the entire Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) community. She reaffirmed her commitment to supporting holistic development and concluded with an inspiring message:
“Let us continue to soar to greater heights like eagles.”
Brigadier Bernard Oluoch, Base Commander of Moi Air Base, also lauded the school for setting a high standard in integrating performing arts into the primary school curriculum. Mrs. Pauline Njoroge, the Headteacher, attributed the school’s success to discipline, teamwork, and thorough preparation. She expressed deep gratitude to the Kenya Air Force, parents, teachers, and especially the Drama and Creative Arts Department for their unwavering support and guidance.
Among the distinguished guests were Ministry of Education officials led by Ms. Fanice Cheshari, Kenya Air Force personnel, teachers, parents, and students.This milestone cements Moi Air Base Primary School’s reputation as a distinguished center of excellence in co-curricular engagement and artistic development, solidifying its place on the national stage.
