RESCUE OPERATION IN GACHIE LED BY KENYA DEFENCE FORCES

The multi-agency Search and Rescue Operation in Gachie led by Kenya Defence Forces’ Disaster Response Battalion (DRB) has been concluded.

This followed the collapse of a five-storey building on Monday afternoon.

DRB successfully rescued nine people but unfortunately 3 bodies were recovered.

The site has since been handed over to the other multi-agency teams, including the National Disaster Operations Centre.
